Hi, I’m Matt Williams and I’m an adventurer, traveller, photographer and videographer; but not always in that order. I’m happiest when I get to do all four at once!
Born and bred in Queensland, I grew up in Mackay and was always exploring the great outdoors while fishing and camping. I’ve travelled extensively through Queensland from Cape York to Coolangatta.
I first picked up a camera during my university days, but it wasn’t until a trip to Birdsville and western Queensland in 2008 that the photography bug really began to bite. An iconic photo of the Birdsville Hotel, snapped on a point and shoot camera found its way into The Australian newspaper (and onto my wall at home) and I haven’t looked back since. I bought my first digital SLR camera in 2009 for a trip overseas to the UK and my photography kit has expanded along with my list of adventures. My gear has had a work out on trips to Uluru, the Simpson Desert, Western Australia and France to name but a few, all of which honed my photography skills and whet my appetite for more adventures.
I have worked as a free-lance photographer full time since 2014, specialising in outdoor, adventure and vehicle photography. I love my landscape photography and can often be found in and around South East Queensland at the crack of dawn, patiently waiting for that perfect light.
Taken at Tallebudgera Creek on the 2nd April, 2016 @ 7.13am with my DJI P3P Drone. Shot was taken on a clear and bright day with the sun still relatively low in the sky. Tide was mid-tide out, with very little water movement for maximum water clarity.
